PROVISIONAL CHAPTER STATUS FOR TWO GROUPS OF INTENT
Iota & Sigma Groups of Intent Each Granted Provisional Status by Board of Directors
GREENSBURG, PA – On January 31st the Board of Directors of the National Fraternity of Kappa Delta Rho accepted a petition from 21 men at from the Iota Group of Intent at Bucknell University for recognition as a Provisional Chapter of Kappa Delta Rho. The Board of Directors also accepted a petition from 22 men at the Sigma Group of Intent at Oregon State University for recognition as a Provisional Chapter of Kappa Delta Rho as well. Each Group of Intent had displayed a high level of understanding of the history & values of the Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity as well as having demonstrated their understanding of the proper operations as a chapter of Kappa Delta Rho.
In order to be recognized as a Provisional Chapter, a Group of Intent must have completed a wide array of educational goals as outlined by the National Fraternity while upholding the values and ideals of the Kappa Delta Rho and expanding their membership. Both the Iota & Sigma Provisional Chapters are now well on their way to achieving the next level of recognition from the National Fraternity which is full membership in the National Fraternity as a Chartered Chapter.
The Iota Group of Intent had received several strong letters of recommendation from members of their community and had created very detailed practices and procedures for chapter operations including recruitment, member education, financial sustainability, service to their community, and excellent chapter policies. The Iota Group of Intent has been working closely with Educational Leadership Instructor Bradley Ostermann from the National Office of the Fraternity as well as the Iota Alumni Organization. It is anticipated that they will petition for Charter Status by the conclusion of the fall 2013 semester.
The Sigma Group of Intent had received strong letters of recommendation from members of their community and had created very detailed practices and procedures for chapter operations including recruitment, member education, financial sustainability, service to their community, and excellent chapter policies. The Sigma Group of Intent has been working closely with Educational Leadership Instructor David Cooper from the National Office of the Fraternity as well as the Sigma Alumni Organization. It is anticipated that they will petition for Charter Status by the conclusion of the fall 2013 semester.
